I am 11 weeks along now! Below is some info on how the baby has grown and what will be happening this week.
Nearly all structures and organs are formed and beginning to function.
Fingers and toes have separated
Hair and nails begin to grow
Amniotic fluid begins to accumulate as the kidneys begin to function
The muscles in the intestinal walls begin to practice contractions that digest food.
Your baby is about 1.61 inches (4.1 cm) long and weighs 0.25 ounce (7gm).
Below are some pictures from a website I found this info on.
God's creation is so amazing!

Hi Megan,
ReplyDeleteMy sister follows your in-laws' site and so I came across your blog - congratulations on your marriage and pregnancy! Two amazing, beautiful gifts aren't they? I'm a newly 20 year old celebrating my first anniversary with my husband on September 25th, and almost 17 weeks pregnant as well :) I absolutely love the sites that tell us how the baby is developing, and the pictures especially. This week I have a teeny tiny bump, and baby is about 4 1/2 inches long! How fast they grow is the most astounding part I think, as well as the fact that it's all going on inside of us - can you get your mind around that?
In any case, it's fun to hear of someone else in such a similar place in love. Blessings to you and John and baby Pedersen!
Love,
Cait
Congratulations, Megan; I am so happy for you two! When Lindsay was pregnant with Christopher I would often look on websites to see how he would be developing. I miss seeing you, I really hope to see you soon!
