A New Year

It's amazing that it's already 2012! This past year has gone by so quickly, it's almost crazy how fast it's gone. This time last year John and I were courting; now we are married, and expecting our first child!
It makes one stop and cherish each moment because they go by all too quickly. I know it will feel like time will speed up more once James is born, but I'm partially in denial that it can go by any faster. God is so good to give us the moments in life that He gives - both good times and hard times.

"Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness."  Lamentations 3:22-23 NKJV

Below is our Christmas letter we sent out to friends and family:

Merry Christmas!

This past year has been a flurry of events!

Back in mid-December John went to my dad to ask to court me. The courtship was a good time to get to know each other better and to see if marriage was what God had in store for us. We courted for two and a half months. On March 4, John asked me to be his wife. I am so glad I said "yes"!

We were engaged for three months and were happily married on June 4, 2011! We drove down to Galveston, TX for our honeymoon. Our time was spent visiting some sights, and enjoying the beach.

In July we flew to Colorado to drive up to Cozad, Nebraska, with some of John’s family to attend the bi-annual Pedersen family reunion. It was a fun weekend meeting his side of the family, canoeing on the lake at the camp where the reunion was held, and enjoying God’s creation! We drove back to Colorado and stayed with a relative of John’s for the night so we could fly home in the morning. That night I ended up in the ER with kidney stones. We stayed an extra day in Colorado so John and I could rest after 6 hours in the ER.

In mid-July we found out that I was pregnant! Our precious son, James Anthony Pedersen, is due March 15, 2012. We are very excited to be parents and to be blessed with a child! One out of many, Lord willing!

This year during Thanksgiving weekend John and I went to Texas Camp (folk dance camp). John has attended Texas Camp each year for the last several years. When we were engaged we decided we wanted to attend this year. It was one of those things to do "before the kids come". It was an enjoyable weekend of learning new dances and brushing up on some old ones.

John’s work as a remodeler/handyman has been going well. October was a slow month, but God has continued to show Himself faithful and continues to provide work. John has been self employed for about three and a half years. The name of his business is Anthony Renard Remodeling. Recently he has had several large projects building built-in entertainment centers for clients. They have all turned out great!

I (Megan) am enjoying being a stay-at-home wife, and soon, mother. Taking care of our home is a great joy to me. I still enjoy sewing and am starting to get back into sewing more 18" doll clothes to sell on Etsy. My home-based business, The Legacy Doll Shoppe, is one I started a year or so ago. I make and sell handmade mostly one-of-a-kind clothing sets for 18" dolls.

This past year has been full of events and family happenings. We look forward to seeing what the Lord has in store for us next year!

May you all have a Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year!
With Love,
John, Megan, and James Pedersen
