Now with James on the way and only one working bathroom in the house, we are needing to get the bathroom at least functional before he comes. Since we are doing a home birth, it's a good idea to have at least two usable bathrooms in case one is occupied.
In John's spare time he works on the bathroom here and there to get it to where we need it!
So far he has gotten the new tile installed, and has some of the pieces cut out for the vanity which we painted and stained. The next step is to install the cabinet of the vanity (after I work on removing wall paper and we do some drywall repair) so he can grout the tile. After that we would like to have the walls textured and painted before we get the toilet re-installed, but depending on how much free time he has this coming month or so, we will see. If we aren't able to get that far, we'll at least get the toilet in so it's usable. :-)
Below are some pics of the tile process. John did a wonderful job!
John working on laying the tile in the shower area. He already got the floor done!
John made a cut-out so that we could have a shelf in the shower to hold shampoo bottles, soap, etc. He had to screw the wood boards so that he could install the border we have for around the shelf. The accent tile, shelf, and border are all natural stone and the tile everywhere else is a 13x13 ceramic.
BEAUTIFUL!! The border above is a tumbled natural stone.
Close-up.
My John did a wonderful job! The pictures don't do it justice.. Like anything, it's better in person!
The other side of the shower. We used the same bullnose tile for the side as we did for the border of the shelf.
