We Have A.....

Usable bathroom! No.. Not nearly as exciting as a baby (who still has yet to make his debut), but it means I can go into labor and we'll have two bathrooms that can be used!!

This past week John was able to do the texture, prime and paint the walls, and set the toilet!
The theme of the bathroom is based off of a picture John bought at Hobby Lobby after he bought the house. It is a French (or Italian. The jury is still out on that) bakery front. The texture and the paint is made to look like a stucco finish. The base color is a soft yellow, and then John ragged/wiped on some watered down brown paint to warm it up some, and add that touch that the picture has. It turned out great!

As always, the pictures don't do John's work justice.

I was very happy to finally put down the bath rug and hang the shower curtain!

This is where the mirror will go. The light fixture John got from a client who was switching it out with something else. The picture to the right is our inspiration. It will be the false window on that wall. We have an old window we bought down in Galveston while on our honeymoon that will be the 'frame'. Now you all know what that mysterious hole in the wall is for! :)

Close up to see texture and color. Again, MUCH better in person!

We don't have the sink in yet, but John will be putting in a temporary counter and mount the sink we will use so that we can have a place to wash hands, etc. until he can get the real countertop on.

39 weeks and still waiting! The next time I'll post will probably be pics of our precious little boy, James Anthony Pedersen! Be sure to check either of our families blogs (see side bar-->). They will probably get pictures up before we get to it.
